ROLES IN THE DIRT WORLD

Project engineer

Project engineers, also called project managers, work behind the scenes to ensure each project comes together on time and on budget. They manage the project schedule, resources, and spending. While they often visit the field, they spend much time in their pickup trucks and office taking care of permits, billing, and other crucial documents so the team in the field can build the job as needed.

  • Split time between field and office
  • Company truck and salary (instead of hourly pay)
  • Involvement in all facets of the project
