Resilience and Working in a Construction Office | Dirt World Stories

Noelle spent her entire career in construction, most of it as a project manager. While she loved being out on jobsites, there wasn’t always the work-life balance that she craved. So she became an office coordinator at Witech Excavating.

Noelle liked working at Witech because they treated everyone with respect. “They were very, very humble, and it was nice to feel appreciated. It was just such a good company to work for—it was the best job I’d ever had. Everyone there did what they were supposed to do, and it was good, proactive management.”

Noelle did a lot of the invoicing, job costing, payroll, office duties, and “anything else they asked me to do!”

For her, coming up in construction on the project management side of things required resilience. “As a woman, you gotta have a tough shell. People think you don’t know what it is you’re talking about until you prove yourself," she said, adding that the industry is better now.

Noelle’s children have grown up watching her, her husband, and his father and grandfather work in construction, so she's excited that they're showing an interest in following in the family's footsteps.
