Growing up, I was fascinated by heavy equipment and construction activity.
I remember playing with my Tonka trucks in the “Digging Spot” in my childhood backyard for hours on end. I always wanted to stop and watch whatever construction we passed on our travels.
I would see mega highway projects like the Boston Big Dig, and I remember thinking, 'Someday, I want to do that!'
Now, I know listening to those thoughts and ambitions was the best decision I ever made.
Every day, I get to work on incredible projects with some of the best men and women who help reshape the state my family calls home.
It’s incredibly satisfying to look at a newly paved road or newly constructed interchange and say, 'I was a part of the team that did that.'
Every day, I wake up knowing that my work will help my family get home safely, and that creates a purpose that’s hard to measure in words.
I’d encourage anyone interested in the Dirt World but hesitant to start to ask questions, watch YouTube videos, and engage with the community.
Our industry is filled to the brim with folks who want to tell you about their projects, passions, and cool equipment they get to work with every day.
